ABOUT JAYNE
Quilting Comfort's Chief Quilter
Quilted Comfort a concept I've thought about and wanted to do for years. Quilting isn't just a hobby for me, it feeds my soul. Other than spending time with family, there's nothing I'd rather do than be at my sewing or quilting machines making something beautiful. I've been sewing for 50 (oh my!) years and quilting for more than 30!

I used to be a grief therapist and when I led grief groups, I always had the members bring in something that had belonged to their loved ones so we could include it in a craft project--usually a wreath. I saw first-hand how comforting and healing that was for my grief group members as well as for myself. I recognized that there are few tangible things to help a person through the loss of a loved one, but those little wreaths were precious to each of them.

Because of that experience, when my beloved sister-in-law passed away in 1996, I took some of her clothing and made pillows and teddy bears for my nieces and nephews and a quilt for my brother. Since that time, I've made about a dozen "memorial quilts" for friends. Each has told me how their quilt made from their family member's clothing has helped them through their grieving.

I am honored to be trusted with those precious mementos to turn them into a beautiful, healing quilt that allows the griever to be wrapped in the memories of their loved one. If you entrust me with the privilege of making a quilt from your loved one's clothing, I promise you I will make it with the same love and care as I do for my family and friends.
